ABOUT US

Have you always wanted to get involved in our community, but aren’t sure how? Good news – there is a small team of volunteers who are working on creating a volunteer database, connecting interested residents like you to the amazing groups that help make Ivins such a great place.

Giving back and being involved in your community has so many benefits, from the “warm and fuzzy” feeling that comes with making a difference to making new friends and participating in a shared goal. Whether you have a few hours once a year or an hour each week, we want to connect you with a community group that fits your interests, talents, and availability.

*The Ivins Inspired Volunteer Program is entirely a volunteer program not owned or operated by the Ivins City in any manner. Individuals wishing to volunteer for programs or events operated by Ivins City will need to complete a volunteer onboarding process through Ivins City directly. Ivins City disclaims any responsibility for volunteer activities/programs not operated directly by Ivins City and is not responsible for the kick-off prize drawing*

Desert Preservation Initiative - DPI

Preserving the natural ecosystem of the beautiful Ivins area drives the work of the Desert Preservation Initiative (DPI), a volunteer run 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The focus of DPI is removal of invasive plant species, particularly tamarisk (aka salt cedar), from the wash areas of the Santa Clara River watershed, followed by restoration to encourage recovery of native flora. DPI volunteers play a key role in restoring the natural diversity of our community and in lowering the risk of wildfires and there are several ways volunteers make a difference, depending on their interests, experience, and available time. *This is not an Ivins City program*
