The Ivins City Streets Division is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of the city’s public roadways and transportation infrastructure. Our mission is to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient travel for residents, visitors, emergency vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists throughout the city.
We maintain over 60 miles of public paved roads, including arterials, collectors, residential streets, curb and gutter, signage, and public rights-of-way.
Ivins City follows a pavement management strategy designed to extend the life of our streets and reduce long-term repair costs. This includes:
The city evaluates pavement conditions annually to prioritize street projects based on usage, age, and surface condition.
Street sweeping helps keep our streets clean and prevents debris from entering storm drains. We sweep major routes and neighborhood streets on a regular schedule and as needed after storms or construction activity. We have set a goal to sweep our arterial and collector streets once per week and all other public streets once per month.
Report streetlight outages, flickering lights, or broken fixtures by emailing us at [email protected] or by calling (435) 634-0689. Provide the nearest address or cross-streets for the nearest intersection for the quickest service.
If you suspect anything that is other than clean storm water being placed into or found within the Ivins City storm drainage system, this is a serious violation that requires emergency level response, please call 911.
The Streets Division maintains traffic signs, street name signs, stop signs, and warning signage citywide. We respond to:
Ivins City has partenered with the City of St George to give Ivins residents access to regional public transportation through the SunTran transit system. The SunTran Ivins Route 5 extension provides weekday service between Ivins, Santa Clara, and St. George, connecting residents to key destinations such as:
The route includes designated stops within Ivins along Center Street and 200 East. All SunTran buses are ADA accessible, and bike racks are available on all vehicles.
Visit the Suntran Bus System website for route maps, schedules, fares, and rider alerts. Consider downloading the mobile app.
Ivins City continues to collaborate with the Dixie MPO and regional partners to expand transit coverage and improve multi-modal transportation options for our residents.
Ivins City works closely with the Dixie Metropolitan Planning Organization (Dixie MPO) and neighboring cities to coordinate long-range transportation planning and regional connectivity.
Our goals include:
Major capital projects are funded through city budgets, regional transportation funds, and state partnerships.
Any work within the public right-of-way—such as driveway modifications, utility cuts, or sidewalk construction—requires a Right-of-Way Permit. Visit the forms page or contact us for application forms and inspection requirements.
Email us at [email protected] or call Public Works at (435) 634-0689, if it’s after hours and when something looks dangerous and needs an immediate response call 911. Your reports help us respond quickly and keep our streets safe.
